  Handwritten by Dr. William Cochran (1779-1853). Only the later part of the original manuscript survives. A handwritten transcription, 14 pages, of the complete original manuscript, has survived. It was written by Mildred Meriwether Rigg, circa 1900, and sent to Dr. Catherine (Cochrane) Smith, both granddaughters of Dr. Cochran. The surviving original manuscript and subsequent transcription, passed down with the Cochran Family Bible, were digitally transcribed and photographed by William Winston Cochrane IV in 2008.
