1821 - Monroe County was formed from portions of Genesee County and Ontario County, and Rochesterville became the county seat of Monroe County.

1823 - Rochesterville was renamed Rochester.

1825 - Monroe County received land from Livingston County, creating Monroe County's present day boundries.
