1841 - Harlan County received land from Perry County.

1842 - Letcher County formed from portions of Perry County and Harlan County.

1843 - Perry County received land from Clay County.

1846 - Breathitt County received land from Perry County.

1850 - Perry County and Clay County exchanged land.

1858 - Clay County, Estill County, Laurel County and Letcher County all received land from Perry County.

1878 - Leslie County formed from portions of Perry County and Clay County.

1884 - Knott County formed from portions of Perry County, Floyd County and Breathitt County.

1890 - Knott County and Leslie County both received land from Perry County, creating Perry County's present day boundries.
