1814 - Edwards County was formed from portions of Madison County and Gallatin County.

1815 - Mount Carmel was founded in Edwards County, Illinois Territory, USA.

1818 - On 3 December, Illinois became the 21st state in the United States of America.

1824 - Wabash County was formed from a portion of Edwards County, and Mount Carmel became the county seat of Wabash County.
