1823 - Fentress County formed from portions of Morgan County and Overton County.

1849 - Scott County formed from portions of Morgan County, Anderson County, Campbell County and Fentress County.

1850-1860 - Scott County received land from Morgan County.

1854 - Morgan County received land from Overton County.

1855 - Cumberland County formed from portions of Morgan County, Bledsoe County, Roane County and White County.

1903 - Morgan County received land from Anderson County.

1910-1930 - Morgan County received land from Scott County, creating Morgan County's present day boundries.
