Notes:
1836 - On 15 June, Arkansas became the 25th state in the United States of America. Also, Madison County was formed from a portion of Washington County.

1867 - Carroll County received land from Madison County.

1870-1880 - There were small boundry changes between Madison County and Franklin County.

1880-1890 - Johnson County received land from Madison County.

1895 - Madison County and Newton County exchanged some land, creating Madison County's present day boundries.
