Notes:
1824 - Oldham County was formed from portions of Henry County, Jefferson County and Shelby County, in Kentucky, USA. Westport was the initial county seat.

1827 - The city of La Grange was founded, and the county seat moved here from Westport.

1828 - The county seat was moved back to Westport.

1833 - Shelby County received land from Oldham County.

1837 - Trimble County formed from portions of Oldham County, Gallatin County and Henry County.

1838 - The county seat was permanently moved back to La Grange, and incorporated as a city in 1840.

1874 - Oldham County received land from Jefferson County, creating Oldham County's present day boundries.
