Notes:
1806 - Campbell County was formd from portions of Anderson County and Claiborne County, in Tennessee, USA. The town of Walnut Grove is founded as the county seat of Campbell County.

1819 - The town of Walnut Grove is renamed Jacksonboro, and later shortened to Jacksboro.

1849 - Scott County formed from portions of Campbell County, Anderson County, Fentress County and Morgan County.

1850 - Union County formed from portions of Campbell County, Anderson County, Grainger County, Knox County and Claiborne County.

1850-1860 - Campbell County received land from Scott County, and Scott County received land from Campbell County, Anderson County and Morgan County.

1860-1870 - Common lines defined between Campbell County and Claiborne County.

1870-1880 - Campbell County received land from Scott County, creating Campbell County's present day boundries.
