1820 - Boone County received land from Gallatin County.

1821 - The future area of Florence was originally known as Crossroads, and then Maddentown.

1828 - Maddentown was renamed Connersville.

1830 - Connersville was renamed Florence and incorporated.

1837 - Gallatin County received land from Boone County.

1870 - Grant received land from Boone County, creating Boone County's present day boundries.
