1798 - Fleming County was formed from a portion of Mason County, Kentucky, USA. Flemingsburg is the county seat of Fleming County.

1800 - Floyd County formed from portions of Fleming County, Mason County and Montgomery County.

1816 - Fleming County received land from Nicholas County.

1824 - Nicholas County received land from Fleming County.

1856 - Rowan County formed from Fleming County and Morgan County.

1867 - Robertson County formed from portions of Fleming County, Bracken County, Harrison County, Mason County and Nicholas County, creating Fleming County's present day boundries.
