Notes - (Research):Based on the 1880, 1900 and 1910 Census for David Ely, he had moved from Lee County, VA to western Kansas between. They also show his wife as Eliza A., born in September 1843 in VA, and with David and Eliza A. having been married circa 1870. This cannot be Eliza T. Russell, born in 1825. So David must have divorced Eliza T., and married Eliza A., and moved to Kansas circa 1870.
The 1880 and 1900 Census for Eliza T. (Russell) Ely show her living with her daughter and son-in-law, Peter and Margaret Chance, in Lee County, VA. Also, she was buried in the Edds-Chance Cemetery in Lee County, VA.
