When she was about four years, she and her mother were in the porch swing reading the funny paper. Her mother had to go inside for something, told her to stay in the swing. Like many children will do, she went across the street where her sisters were playing, and then when her mother opened her doorto come outside, she saw a car when it struck Freddie Lee. The woman driving had her head turned, waving at a neighbor. Freedie Lee died the next day in the hospital."
