Residence:
- They moved from Maryland to settle just upstream from Mary's parents.
- They moved here from their farm on the North Fork of the Holston River, following Mary's parents who moved here in 1780. This location is now the town of Dryden in Lee County, Virginia. They moved back to the Mendota area on the North Fork of the Holston River sometime before 1800.
